![]() The thrust of my argument was simple: always harping on whether or not something satisfies a checklist of politically correct requirements is not useful as criticism, and does both games and criticism injustice. I wrote recently that attacking Call of Duty: World War II over diversity misses the point. Split screen was an option that was available when the game was released for other platforms including Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and even Wii U. The only way to play the game on PC is by downloading the Steam version and playing online with other players. The very worst thing that happens, the most dire outcome of all of this, is that you can play as women in the new Call of Duty multiplayer if you want to and as a man if you'd prefer that. No, unfortunately, you cannot play split screen on Call of Duty: World at War PC. There's a Nazi zombie co-op game mode that I'm willing to bet tosses historical accuracy out the window. I mean, honestly, who cares? Why bother caring? What's the use?Īs many have pointed out, this is just multiplayer, not the campaign. While I can understand the desire for historical accuracy here, I can't honestly muster the energy to get even slightly worked up over this. The vast bulk of the fighting was done by men with women serving in support roles.
